“Healing, deliverance, and restoration do much more than solve immediate problems, they give people a concrete demonstration of who God is.” ~Bill Johnson
Even though we are born-again, life often seems to be one struggle after another. These struggles seem to have rule over what we think as well as how we think, and then how we live our life. So, what’s the answer?
Soul transformation. Romans 12:2 tells us, “. . . Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Transformation involves restoration, healing and deliverance for our soul [mind, will and emotions]. Transformation is the first step to restoration. Praise God!
THE RESTORATION-FREEDOM FRONTS at NBCF
Saved—Healed—Delivered! The NBCF Restoration-Freedom Ministry is made up of 4 major areas, which offers various forms and approaches to becoming saved, healed and delivered.
Altar Ministry
The Altar Ministry is the first point of restoration-freedom, which provides anyone who is in need–spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically or financially–with team ministers who will pray earnest, powerful Word prayers for and with them privately. James 5:16b from the Amplified Bible says–“The earnest [heartfelt, continued] prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
Altar Ministry takes place on Sunday mornings after service as well as by appointment. Altar Ministry involves the use of the manifestation gifts of the Holy Spirit, anointing with oil, and the laying on of hands—all as the Holy Spirit leads.
Discipleship
Discipleship is the second front of restoration in our life. Discipleship is the building of a deep relationship with Jesus Christ to become a true disciple—or one whose identity is in being a follower of Christ. See more about our Discipleship method here.
Inner Healing and Deliverance
Jesus Himself reiterated His mission of healing and deliverance prophesied by the prophet Isaiah in Luke 4–“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,” (verses 18-19 NKJV).
Jesus commissions and makes it clear that Believers are to proclaim His Good News with signs following (Mark 16:15-18):
- Driving out demons
- Speaking in new tongues
- Supernatural protection
- Supernatural immunity from that which is threatening or deadly
- Healing the sick by the laying on of hands
Inner healing is best described as healing of emotional wounds. Every person, no matter their background, has experienced some type of emotional wounding–hurts, abuses, traumas, memories, attitudes, wrong beliefs and more. Why does a Christian need inner healing? Although Christ has fully accomplished our healing through His finished work, our hurting soul (mind, will and emotions) can have a difficult time realizing, apprehending and appropriating that work. When we receive healing for these hurts, we allow the Holy Spirit to remove the stinger from them. Then when we look back upon a healed wound, we can see it in a different way, because it has been healed and is no longer painful to look back upon. The Word of God can then penetrate our soul to empower it in greater ways.
Deliverance is best described as freedom from demon influence and oppression. Deliverance simply means to set free or liberate; to release or save from demon influence or oppression.
While a Christian’s born-again spirit is unaffected by demons, his or her soul can be and often is demonically controlled, manipulated and even ruled. The soul must be set free from demons that oppress (such as sickness, depression, anxiety). And, Jesus Christ is the Deliverer.
Physical Healing
“…And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
Receiving physical healing begins with knowing and believing [faith] that Jesus Christ has already given us physical healing through His shed Blood (atonement).
Yes, physical healing is part and parcel of our salvation— offered to every person as much as salvation is offered to every person! Healing can be instantaneous or a process, and we believe it is available and can be received by faith.
